February 7th, 2010, filed in Exning Cricket Club’s Pre season nets will be held at the Newmarket Leisure Centre on the following Fridays:-
19 February, 26 February, 19 March, 2 April and 9 April from 7pm to 10pm.
JUNIOR NETS
Nets for the age groups up to Under 13 will be from 7pm to 8.30pm and will cost £3 per session.
The Club will be running teams at Under 13 and Under 11 age groups this coming season but younger players are more than welcome to attend from the age of 7/8 upwards.
Unfortunately, the Club will not be able to run an Under 15 team this season, but with the 2010 Under 13’s coming through the system, it is hoped that from 2011 the Club will be back to providing cricket for all three age groups, Under 11’s, 13’s and 15’s.
This season the coaches will be Kevin Woodhouse, David Atkinson, Ben Readman, Simon Allen and Daniel Baigent.
SENIOR NETS
Nets for the senior players, from Under 16’s upwards, will be from 8.30pm to 10.00 pm and will cost £4 per session.
The final net session on 9 April coincides with the first match of the season the next day, on 10 April; a Friendly fixture at the Park against local rivals Burwell, who will be plying their trade in the East Anglian Premier League for 2010 having gained promotion in 2009. Exning’s league fixtures then commence the following weekend, 17 April.
All Exning’s 2009 members, both senior and junior, will be aware of the Pre Season net dates, but any players new to the area, young or old, will be made very welcome and are encouraged to join the Pre Season practice nights.
