New social events for 2009……..
Pony Cafe
We will be looking to serve food after the game. First up is an offering from our Aussie chef, Kent Tomsett, a tough act to follow. Knowing most of you, of more interest is a drinks promotion that will accompany the various culinary delights. Stick behind a little longer after the game or use it to eat before setting off for the bright lights of Newmarket. Food will be served after the following games:
April 18th& 25th. May 9th & 30th. June 13th July 4th & 18th, Aug 8th & 22nd, Sept 5th & 12th

Quiz Night
This is your chance to prove you DO know more than the combined minds of Tony Catley and Flaming. This won’t be a school exam so bragging rights are up for grabs, maybe your secret knowledge of Graham Napiers inside leg measurement finally becomes useful! Date for your diary is Friday May 22nd
Target Golf
A lot of fun with individual handicaps, that might include a gag for Flaming, will even this competition up, so you could win even if you have never picked up a club before. Friday 19th June

Golf Day
Jon Readman has thrown down the gauntlet, Exning CC’s golf day is being held at Newmarket Golf Club, Thursday 6th August. Prizes are available for the usual competitions but this is an opportunity to get together and have a laugh. A book is being held on just how many balls Woodsy loses.
Gentlemen’s Night
Angus Fraser will be illuminating us with the world of cricket according to him. This will sell out so buy your tickets early. See Jon Readman for tickets. Venue is the Bedford Lodge November 6th
Race Night
Our illustrious Chairman will again be hosting a Race Night after the game with Mildenhall on Sat 4th July. Best bring an extra shirt!!!

The social committee is looking at the following idea’s for 2010, for example:
Exning CC tour: beer, fines, silly costumes and maybe a couple of games of cricket
Fantasy League . Can you do a better job of picking a team than the selection committee. Prove it over the course of the season
Poker Nights/ Tournament: Reckon you could stare out Tim Catley when the chips are down. You might just get that chance
Single Wicket Competition: Show your all round skills in a handicapped competition at the park
